I am a cognitive behavioural therapist, accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have a master’s degree in clinical psychology, with 10+ years clinical and supervisory experience in both NHS and private settings. Since 2018 I have been working as a senior practitioner in NHS talking therapies services, alongside my private practice. I’m a family man. I’m a dad of 3 young kids, who keep me on my toes. I’m the wrong side of 30 and like playing golf, family time, having beers with my mates, and watching sport.
Life is hard, right? I’m all about normalising the day-to-day struggles that we all face, doing my bit to break the stigma around mental health, and make life a little easier for as many people as I can. I pride myself on my ability to quickly establish strong therapeutic alliances with people, approaching therapy with an emphasis on collaboration and working as a team to make the changes you want to see become reality.
I am from a working-class background and don’t pretend to be anything I’m not. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I value honesty and transparency. With me you’ll get high-quality evidence-based therapy, just delivered by a down to earth and plain speaking guy (someone who knows life, not just books). I will adapt to your needs, use humour in sessions, and approach therapy in a novel way. We can of course do the traditional therapy method of sitting in a clinic room opposite each other with a notepad, if that’s what you want. Or we can do virtual therapy. Or we can agree on another way that suits you better (i.e., walk & talk sessions). See ‘my services’ page for some ideas.
What it boils down to is that I genuinely care and truly want to improve your quality of life. And I believe that we most definitely can, together.
“I found Brad to be an excellent therapist. His laid back, calm manner made me feel right at home immediately and happy to discuss my issues. The CBT techniques helped me realise how stuck I’d become and how my thinking needed to change. It is not easy and there is a way to go still, but I use these techniques daily to give me a break from my anxieties. I know I can call Brad anytime if I found myself slipping again.”

“I spent a few months in therapy with Brad and found him to be very easy to talk to and understanding in what I was going through with my personal issues. I found him very professional and will recommend him to anybody.”

“Brad has been supervising me in my private practice as a CBT therapist for the past 3 years. In that time, I have found him to be invaluable to my professional development. His down to earth approach to supervision has allowed me to grow extensively in my knowledge and confidence, with a range of clinical presentations. Brad is personable, knowledgeable, diligent, encouraging, and supportive.”

“Supervision with Brad has largely shaped who I am as a clinician today. His patience, knowledge, and caring nature are what stand out to me, with Brad’s helpful guidance often in the back of my mind whilst working with clients. As a supervisee, you’re put at ease instantly, no question is too silly, and you always feel like you are leaving the hour with clear direction for your cases. Brad helps you stay grounded, whilst developing your own clinical decision making in a natural, collaborative way. I have a lot to thank Brad for and anyone who gets a chance to be supervised by him is very lucky.”
